Formed in 2003, Lexceteras provides travel related insurance services and identifies new opportunities to enhance the products supplied to the travel industry. The Company was to be called LEXETCERAS (‘Lex et ceras’ is the Latin for ‘Law and Others’) However, when registering the Company name an error was made and out came LEXCETERAS. Luckily the name ran off the tongue just as well and its original meaning still stands.

Our task was to produce a logo and corporate style to complement the business and its market. We always strive to give our clients a unique identity so after much discussion and some late nights, we chose to create an icon as a representative for the company, a figurehead. We thought 'Lexceteras' sounded like the name of an exotic creature, so we chose to 'give birth' to the Lexceteras, an ancient and mythical bird. This idea was perfectly realised in the illustration you see above, using a classic 'etching' style to give the authenticity and gravitas the company required.
